We remember those who have died and gone missing at the borders, we pay tribute to them, and we take action and protest against the conditions and policies responsible for these deaths. Many such CommemorActions have taken place since the establishment of the transnational CommemorAction network in 2020. Some of us compiled a booklet to document these acts of collective remembrance, grief and anger, which you can download here:

“In this booklet, we trace some of the key stages in the development of this transnational network. We present several accounts drawn from CommemorAction’s transnational meetings organised over the past six years. We have also compiled a number of statements and testimonies from relatives who have lost loved ones and are now actively involved in the CommemorAction network.
We hope that this collection of texts and the numerous photographs will provide an insight into the CommemorAction process and offer an initial understanding of it. Of course, this small booklet remains fragmentary. It does not in any way claim to be exhaustive; it is merely an overview of the many activities and efforts undertaken to pay tribute to those who have died or gone missing and to take action against the deadly migration regime.
